Endometriosis is a condition occurring when cells that should normally reside within the uterus reach sites in the abdominal cavity. Endometriosis is often found behind the uterus, the ovaries, fallopian tubes, the intestines, the bladder and abdominal wall. Symptoms of endometriosis are pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, painful periods, infertility or abdominal pain. Endometriosis can be treated via a surgical and non-surgical approach.
